Downstairs
As their contribution to Museum Boijmans van Beuningen's Rotterdam residency of the international EU research project Dancing Museums, Connor and Luis created Downstairs, an installation exposing their artistic practice as a performative act by bringing their home studio into museum.
In connection with the Van Bosch tot Bruegel - De ontdekking van het dagelijks leven [The uncovering of everyday life], during the opening hours of the museum, they would perform the act of using objects from their everyday life as a visual artist and a dancer artist who were also living together as partners, to compose the romantic common. The compositions they would create were than exhibited in the form of video inside the Van Bosch tot Bruegel exhibition along side the works and objects related to the 16th century artists.
As a spectator, you observe that every life is romantic, every life is common, and every life can turn into a dream, as long as it's not yours.
